Dark Light

As a traveler, I have always been fascinated by the rich culture and hospitality of Thailand, and I finally got a chance to explore two of its most popular tourist destinations – Bangkok and Phuket.

My journey started in Bangkok, where I stayed in the Silom area, near the BTS station, making it easy for me to move around the city. I visited the famous tourist hotspots like the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, view from the top of Mahanakton, and took a boat ride on the river. I also explored the posh shopping mall, Icon Siam, and tried some of the best street food that Bangkok has to offer. I was particularly impressed by the mango sticky rice dessert (simple, yet very tasty) and bubble teas, which are not that popular in the UK.

After spending six nights in Bangkok, I flew to Phuket for another six nights. I stayed in the Patong area and thoroughly enjoyed the beach, the hotel pool and the food. I went on two all-day boat cruises, one to Phi Phi Island (i.e. Maya Bay, Monkey Beach), and other islands where I could snorkel and swim, and another to some islands where I tried scuba diving for the first time. Despite my initial nervousness, I felt safe and well-looked after with only two of us and an instructor.

I had good weather throughout my stay in Thailand and enjoyed several massages, including, shoulders, back and feet. I also got a custom-tailored suit, which was much cheaper than in the UK.

In conclusion, I had a fantastic time exploring Bangkok and Phuket, and I would love to go back soon. I highly recommend Thailand for its culture, fantastic people, gorgeous weather and overall amazing experiences.
